When will discounts expire?

Discounts are revealed when you purchase a membership plan of the Acorns.Community Card as well as the expiry date of their individual offers and the details. .

What are Acorns.Community Cards?

Acorns.Community Cards are discount membership cards where you can get access to special offers and savings. What’s even more significant is that by using it regularly, you’ll be helping local businesses during their less busy hours when they require our support the most. Using this card will encourage perpetual support as it promotes local unity and inspires our hometown communities to mutually benefit. User can redeem any of the discounts listed on the site with a valid Acorns.Community Card.

How can I find out about new discounts?

You can simply search Acorns.Community – One Base Home Ed Marketplace via keyword, category, business name and location or on the back of your card there is a QR Code you scan to get to the Deals Map. New offers are listed first. You may also see businesses imagery on the site to click through to their listing or each listing has been search engine optimised which means that it can appear on search engines if you do not know our sites address; Acorns.Community.

What do I receive when I purchase an Acorns.Community Card?

You will receive an email with all of the details of your offers, bonus and perks. You will be receiving in the post a printed Acorns.Community Card and also a printed Bonus Home Educator’s card that has cited legislation and can be used to evidence de-registration for those home ed provisions that ask for ‘proof’. Should either of the cards be lost, stolen or damaged. A new card(s) will need to be purchased.

Where can I purchase Acorns.Community Cards?

You can purchase an Acorns.Community Card online via Acorns.Community here. We are working in each town for a number of our Mighty Businesses to be retailers who will hold them if you prefer purchase an Acorns.Community Card in person. The list of those retailers are here.

Where can I use Acorns.Community Cards?

You can use Acorns.Community Cards with businesses that are listed under the ‘Mighty Businesses’ category here. You can use them with all of the attractions, businesses, restaurants and shops listed on the site. To reveal the discount you will need to purchase an Acorns.Community Card membership plan. Once you own a valid Acorns.Community Card you can use it locally within your town and within any town across the UK with participating ‘Mighty Business’ partners.

How can I redeem an Acorns.Community Card discount?

All you do is simply show your Acorns.Community Card and ask for the discount or offer. The business owner will check the date on your card and give you the discount or offer. All cards expire on 30th June each year where you will need to purchase a new card. Your account online can auto renew and you are welcome to purchase a new card online or in person mid April of each year.

Is it necessary to have an Acorns.Community Card to get the discount?

Yes. As part of the agreement with the businesses to market their services and/or products and our agreement to work hard with our ‘Mighty Business’ partners to get yourself great Off-Peak discounts and savings and service all of the upload of the listings and their amendments. Our ‘Mighty Business’ partners will only provide the discount when they have checked your valid Acorns.Community Card. Some retailers have chosen to stock some Acorns.Community cards and can offer a new purchase for those requiring a new card or their card renewed.

What is a valid Acorns.Community Card?

An Acorns.Community Card is valid with a date on the back of the card that hasn’t passed its expiry. All cards printed after March 2024 will expire on 30th June 2025 and these timings will occur annually. Acorn.Community Cards will be available to purchase from mid April 2024 and annually thereafter. If you purchase in April or May, you will receive more than 12 months+ membership.

When do Acorns.Community Cards expire?

Expiry dates are printed on all Acorns.Community Cards. Cards expire each year on 30th June. Purchase of a new card is available each year from mid April.

How can I ensure I get more than 12 months+ membership?

By purchasing a card online or in person via the retailers listed here in April or May and then you will receive more than 12 months membership of your Acorns.Community Card.

What happens if I am refused a discount?

We have agreed all discounts with the ‘Mighty Businesses’ If on a rare occasion you are refused a discount. Be polite and ask to speak to the manager. Wherever possible there will be an Acorns.Community Card Collaboration Sticker on display which should minimise this occurrence if all staff have not been informed of their partnership with Acorns.Community Card. They all have a listing on the site which you could evidence with their terms and conditions. If you are still refused the discount, please let us know and and we will call them ourselves. Depending when you email us, this may be after your visit, but we will work to rectify the situation. Contact us at cards@acorns.community

I have discovered a business has ceased trading, what should I do?

If you discover a business ceased trading, which unfortunately could occur. Please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can contact the new owner or remove their ‘Mighty Business’ listing. Contact us at cards@acorns.community

Can I visually see if a business is part of Acorns.community Cards?

Wherever possible we do try to display window stickers with participating ‘Mighty Businesses’ so that when you may not have access to an online check on the website, you can see before you go in to the business. If they are not part of Acorns.Community as yet. Please feel free share the benefits of joining the scheme or share the website link: acorns.community/acorns-savings for details and ask them to join us via this link or if that is not possible, you can email us with all details and should they join, we will send a discount code for one of Acorns.Community upgrade packages or a discount code from one of our aligned partner sites. It is a FREE service for ‘Mighty Businesses’.
